dublin-and the rest

hello team,

well its been ages since ive written anything on here, mainly because i havnt really done anything exciting enough to warrant me writing about it. If you have read any of my previous blogs you would remember that i was going to Dublin last month, then doing a 3 day tour around ireland and also catching up with a long lost uncle and cousin. That was the plan, but it ended up somewhat different. As i had to catch an early plane from a london airport i stayed at a mates place the night before, left at 2:45am and caught a series of ngiht buses in order to get to luton airport for 5am, my plane got in about 7:45am into dublin, which gave me 45mins to get to the departure point of my tour. the bus ride into the city centre was estimated to take 30mins, it would be tight- leaving me 15 mins to find the hostel departure point. the bus was 30mins late. so i missed my tour. the conversation at the hostel went something like this:

Me: hello, has the tour already gone?
Her: Yes
Me: is there any way of catching it up?
Her: No (she was quite helpful and talkative)
Me: do you have any vacancies for 2 nights?
Her: Yes
Me: book me in.

so that was it, my 3 day tour taking in the best sights ireland had to offer turned into cruisign around dublin for a while, actually turned out to be good fun, met aussie and kiwi blokes and also a couple form belfast(northern ireland) and pretty much just mucked around, did a bit of sightseeing etc. pretty good fun. then on my last night went down to catch up with my cousin and uncle who i had last seen back in sydney about 11 years ago- great fun catching up, played a bit of backyard cricket, went down to the beach, ate at a quality italian resturant, played some pool and arcade games. ace.

Anyways that was over a month ago, ive been back at the hotel slaving way, cranking the overtime to save for my big summer trip... cant wait...ive got my ticket to germany for june 17 just in time for the brazil v aussie world cup showdown...then 2 months touring europe. bring it on.

Oh yeah, exactly 365 days ago today, i left home. cant believe its been a year, seriously seems like about 3 months.

1 month and 1 day til i finish work- felt so good handing in my resignation.

34 days until we kill brazil in the world cup (haha)

Anyways hope all is well where ever you are. i will be home soon, as i wont have much/any money left after europe. take it easy. andy
