off the beaten track.

well the joys of travelling away from the big city. i was assured when i jumped on the bus to nova gracia that there would be plentiful connections to rijeka, northern croatia. the next train out is at 7pm tonight, there are no buses and i arrived here at 8:15 this morning. Forced to relax, i can handle that. At least i have an extra few minutes to catch up on my journal and scam a few free internet minutes at the local library, which randomly has a vine snaking through the bookshelves. I think i listed the countries id visited a few weeks ago, not really sure where i got up to,(mabye czech republic) since then ive hooned through bratislava, budapest, ljubjlana, lake bled, bovec and now noca gracia. (hopefully rijeka later on tonight and then down the coast of croatia. Had some awesome days out in the wilderness in bovec, went canyoning which is where you, jump, slide abseil, scramble etc over/through waterfalls, cliffs and naturally made waterslides. ace. yesterday went whitewater rafting, not quite as extreme as i would have liked as the river was a bit low, but a decently fun arvo out. I have also attracted a large army of ants, which seem to crawl on and around my bags constantly, could have something to do with the jar of raspberry jam whihc shattered in my backpack... having stacks of fun meeting random people and experiencing the different cultures and lifestyles of people over here. trying to organise a visa for romania at the moment, which is proving quite difficult; over the next 4 weeks ill be working my way down to turkey(hopefully including romania), will be a stack of fun. My time is running out though- ill be back in oz in about a month. cant believe it. anyways gotta run. hope life is great where you are. take it easy. andy
