Get your backpack out!

Above is a photo of my backpack. Its been sitting in my wardrobe for about 20 months(my clothes are all neatly stacked on the floor), and is a tad on the mouldy side. Hence the reason its in the sun. But tomorrow my backpack is going to south america, and the cool thing is...i get to go as well, rad! Yeah so its been a long time coming, i dont think ive even been on a plane since returning to aus- but thats all going to change very very soon...and my backpack is still in the sun, and my clothes still on the floor...

So the plan is...i fly to Lima, Peru via LAX and am there for 1 month with 22 other mates from my church youth group. We are helping construct a rehab centre/orphanage for disadvantaged Peruvian children - weve raised $80,000 for all the materials, labour and to staff the centre - so its been quite a bit of hard work and planning, but will be awesome to get over and get stuck into some building and meet the kids over there. and also get taught how to play soccer properly... stoked! (check it out www.project-peru.org)

After Peru im flying with 2 mates to southern Brazil and we have a tad over 1 month to get back to santiago, Chile. All local transport and we get to check out a few other countries (uruguay, argentina) along the way...thats all the planning we have thus far...so im sure theres some rad adventures to be had, somewhere in there...

We drop one mate off in santiago then me and old mate cruise up the coast back to lima, and mabye bolivia for a few weeks, before my last friends jet's.

Then its back to andy 'the lone ranger', i have nothing even roughly planned from here on, but will try and see the top half of south america - then hopefully make my way overland thru central america to the mighty USA where i will fly out of New York. Then London. Japan. Home. Not sure of times yet, but ill keep you posted on here when the time gets closer. So if you are in one of those countries, or somewhere along the rough path i have mentioned, give me a yell if you want to catch up or if you have any travel location suggestions. etc etc.

Hope to seeya out there somewhere. Take it easy. Ive got some packing to do. andy
